Booksellers Clearing House

  
   
a system used in the UK for payments of publishers\' accounts by booksellers. Each bookseller adds together the total of the accounts due to all publishers, and sends them with one cheque to the clearing house, which then consolidates the payments from all the booksellers and settles each publisher\'s account separately.
